However, many pesantren business units under the Himpunan Ekonomi dan Bisnis Pesantren (HEBITREN) Solo Raya still face challenges in financial literacy and management. This community engagement program applied the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach combined with a qualitative descriptive method to analyze the impact of financial literacy training. The study involved 50 participants from various pesantren business units, aiming to improve their financial literacy and financial management skills. The initial assessment revealed that not all participants had adequate knowledge of financial recording, particularly in the context of sharia-based accounting. The training began with fundamental financial recording techniques and later introduced participants to SIAPIK, a financial recording application provided by Bank Indonesia. Qualitative descriptive analysis of the training process indicated that participants gained significant improvements in financial literacy, and all successfully installed and utilized the SIAPIK application to manage and report their financial activities. These findings suggest that the ABCD approach, supported by qualitative descriptive analysis, effectively strengthens pesantren entrepreneurship by integrating financial literacy with technological solutions, thereby promoting economic sustainability within the pesantren ecosystem.
Asep Maulana Rohimat M. With significant fund potential, cash waqf can be invested for various needs, such as infrastructure development, provision of educational facilities, and development of learning programs. This study aims to analyze the role of cash waqf in improving the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools and its impact on the welfare of the surrounding community. In addition, this study also explores the challenges and opportunities faced by Islamic boarding schools in optimally utilizing cash waqf. The research method used is library research, for references needed in the form of research-related documents, textbooks and journals, articles, both online and through journals. The results of this study are cash waqf has the potential to be a sustainable funding solution for the development of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in Indonesia. With 39,043 pesantren nationwide and an estimated national cash waqf potential of Rp180 trillion per year, pesantren can serve both as managers (nadzir) and beneficiaries (mustahiq) of waqf funds. Their key strengths lie in strong public trust and extensive community networks. With the potential of land waqf reaching 55,259.87 hectares and cash waqf of IDR 180 trillion annually, professional management is needed to optimize waqf asset utilization. This study aims to analyse the role of pesantren management in managing productive waqf, identify factors influencing management success, and explore the impacts, challenges, and opportunities in productive waqf management. The study employs a library research methodology by analysing various literature, journals, and research related to pesantren management and productive waqf.

Pesantren management plays a crucial role in implementing POAC functions (planning, organizing, activating, controlling) in productive waqf management. Internal factors affecting success include visionary leadership capacity, Nazhir professionalism, and innovation in asset management. External factors encompass regulatory support and community socio-economic conditions. Productive waqf management provides positive impacts, including improved educational infrastructure, pesantren financial independence, sustainable scholarship programs, student entrepreneurship skill development, local economic empowerment, and job creation. Implementation faces obstacles such as a lack of public understanding about productive waqf, unprofessional management, limited quality human resources, legal uncertainty of waqf asset status, and limited initial capital. There are significant opportunities for productive waqf development supported by Law No. 41 of 2004 on Waqf and BWI Regulation No. 1 of 2020, which provide a strong legal foundation and comprehensive guidelines for productive waqf management. Professional and systematic pesantren management has proven capable of optimizing waqf asset utilization to generate sustainable positive impacts for pesantren and communities. Continuous efforts to enhance management capacity and foster multi-stakeholder collaboration are needed to optimize productive waqf potential.

Muhamad Towil Akhirudin Copyright (c) 2025 Proceeding of International Conference on Islamic Boarding School 2025-08-04 2025-08-04 2 1 10.61159/icop.v2i1.637 The Permissibility, Potentials and Management of Waqf al-Manafi' (Usufruct Endowment): Pondok Modern Tazakka's Experience https://ejournal.darunnajah.ac.id/index.php/icop/article/view/636
This paper explores the permissibility, potentials, and effective management of waqf al-manafi’ (usufruct endowment) within the framework of Islamic jurisprudence, with a particular focus on the Malikite school. In addition to their educational function, many pesantren have developed business units to sustain their operational costs. However, challenges such as financial sustainability, limited managerial expertise, and regulatory constraints often hinder their ability to achieve economic independence. This study examines the potential of implementing the Enterprise-Structured Waqf (ESW) model as an innovative approach to strengthen the economic foundations of business-based pesantren in Indonesia. The ESW model is a waqf-based corporate model that integrates the principles of Islamic endowment (waqf) with modern business management. This model allows waqf assets to be managed professionally, generating sustainable revenues while maintaining the original waqf objectives. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing content analysis of existing literature, including academic journals, books, policy papers, and case studies on enterprise waqf models. The findings of this study suggest that ESW has strong potential to be implemented in Indonesian pesantren, offering a sustainable solution for enhancing their financial autonomy. By leveraging waqf assets for productive economic activities, pesantren can generate long-term revenue streams while fulfilling their social and educational missions. However, several challenges need to be addressed, including low waqf literacy, legal ambiguities, and the need for capacity building among pesantren stakeholders. This study recommends targeted policy support, increased collaboration with Islamic financial institutions, and tailored training programs to facilitate the adoption of the ESW model in pesantren across Indonesia.
Iskandar Husni Mubarrak Arroyyan Ramly Copyright (c) 2025 Proceeding of International Conference on Islamic Boarding School 2025-08-09 2025-08-09 2 1 10.61159/icop.v2i1.631 Design of the BAZNAS Santripreneur Application for Strengthening Digital-Based Student Technopreneurship https://ejournal.darunnajah.ac.id/index.php/icop/article/view/592
The Santripreneur Program is an initiative of Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (BAZNAS), the official National Zakat Agency of Indonesia, aimed at empowering final-year students and alumni of Islamic boarding schools in the field of entrepreneurship. Digital transformation marked by the advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has had a significant impact on the world of education, including Islamic boarding schools as traditional Islamic educational institutions. Although AI presents great opportunities in learning efficiency, personalization of materials, and access to knowledge, this technology also poses serious challenges to the formation of spiritual values and character of students. This study aims to analyze the impact of the use of AI on the spiritual values and character of students and to explore the managerial approach of Islamic boarding schools in integrating the values of the Qur'an through the interpretation of Quraish Shihab. The method used is qualitative research with a literature study approach, with primary data in the form of the Qur'an and the Tafsir Al-Mishbah, and supported by secondary literature from various scientific sources. The results of the analysis show that the use of AI that is not accompanied by strengthening divine values has the potential to cause degradation of manners, spiritual independence, and personal relationships between students and teachers. However, with an adaptive-protective managerial approach and a curriculum based on Qur'anic values, Islamic boarding schools can create an ethical and spiritual AI education ecosystem. This study aims to explore the contribution of Islamic boarding schools to the development and research of science and technology through a library research approach. By reviewing academic literature, policy documents, and previous research results, this study maps the integration model between Islamic and scientific knowledge that has developed in Islamic boarding school environments.

The results of the study indicate that Islamic boarding schools not only play a role as centers for the transmission of religious values, but have also begun to develop an interdisciplinary approach that combines Islamic spirituality with modern scientific thinking. This contribution is seen in the efforts to Islamize science, develop an integrative curriculum, and implement appropriate technology based on Islamic values in the lives of students. Islamic boarding schools such as the RMI-NU Technology Boarding School, the Darul Ihsan Science Boarding School, and the Daarut Tauhid Eco-Boarding School have become examples of real practices of this integration.

However, this contribution still faces structural challenges such as limited human resources, minimal access to the latest technology, and lack of national policy support focused on Islamic boarding school research. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening the role of Islamic boarding schools as centers of interdisciplinary research through collaboration with universities, increasing teacher capacity, and reforming Islamic education policies. This study emphasizes that Islamic boarding schools have great potential to not only preserve the heritage of Islamic knowledge, but also become the driving force for technological innovation rooted in Islamic values.

Nur Fatimah Taufik Rahman Nu’man Ihsanda Mohamad Erihadiana Copyright (c) 2025 Proceeding of International Conference on Islamic Boarding School 2025-08-20 2025-08-20 2 1 10.61159/icop.v2i1.620 Enhancing Entrepreneurial Competence of Students at Kulliyatul Muallimin al-Islamiyah for Engagement in the Halal Industry Sector https://ejournal.darunnajah.ac.id/index.php/icop/article/view/634
This study explores the integration of entrepreneurship education within the Kulliyatul Mu’allimin al-Islamiyah (KMI) curriculum, with a particular focus on preparing students (santri) to actively participate in the growing halal industry. In light of the rapid expansion of the global halal market, Islamic educational institutions such as pesantren hold a strategic position in developing entrepreneurs who are both competent and committed to Islamic ethical values. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through literature review, curriculum analysis, and in-depth interviews with teachers and alumni from pesantren implementing the KMI curriculum. The findings indicate that entrepreneurial education at KMI implicitly embeds core Islamic business values such as honesty, responsibility, and a commitment to community welfare, aligning well with the principles of the halal industry. However, the study also identifies significant challenges, including limited access to halal certification training, lack of market exposure, and insufficient collaboration with industry stakeholders. The study concludes that the KMI curriculum holds great potential to be developed as a value-based entrepreneurship education model, capable of producing professional, ethical, and globally adaptive halal entrepreneurs.
Hadiyanto Arief Copyright (c) 2025 Proceeding of International Conference on Islamic Boarding School 2025-08-21 2025-08-21 2 1 10.61159/icop.v2i1.634 Santri as Agents of Change in the 21st Century in Business Innovation, Science, and Technology https://ejournal.darunnajah.ac.id/index.php/icop/article/view/630
The 21st century presents significant challenges and opportunities due to technological advancements, globalization, and social transformation. This study proposes a supervised learning approach using the Naïve Bayes Classifier to predict consumer payment methods—cash or digital—based on key demographic and behavioral attributes, including gender, age, and transaction history. A synthetic dataset comprising 500 records was developed to reflect real-world consumer profiles. The methodology involved data preprocessing, model development, and performance evaluation using standard classification metrics: confusion matrix, precision, recall, F1-score, and AUC-ROC. The resulting model achieved 93.60% accuracy, with a precision of 93.25% for digital payment prediction and a recall of 93.92% for cash payment classification. The AUC-ROC score of 0.986 indicates excellent discriminative performance. These findings demonstrate the practical utility and efficiency of the Naïve Bayes algorithm in capturing behavioral patterns from limited input features. The approach is relevant for developing intelligent recommendation systems, supporting risk assessment, and advancing digital financial literacy—particularly in emerging sectors such as education, including Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), which are increasingly integrating digital financial tools.
Rahmat Rizkiyanto Audia Rahmayana Copyright (c) 2025 Proceeding of International Conference on Islamic Boarding School 2025-08-21 2025-08-21 2 1 10.61159/icop.v2i1.621 Pendidikan Pesantren Berkelanjutan melalui Pengelolaan Wakaf yang Optimal: Peluang dan Tantangan Studi Kasus di Akademi Tahfiz Qur’an dan Bahasa Arab (ATQIA) https://ejournal.darunnajah.ac.id/index.php/icop/article/view/595
Waqf, as an Islamic economic instrument, holds significant potential to support pesantren in operational aspects, curriculum development, and the welfare of students and teaching staff. One phenomenon observed in Pondok Pesantren Darunnajah is yahanu, a form of self-confidence often perceived as excessive. This phenomenon reflects a tension between confidence and humility, making it essential to examine in the context of character development. This study employed a qualitative approach using semi-structured interviews, observation, and document analysis. Data were analyzed thematically with triangulation to ensure validity. The findings reveal that yahanu has a dual impact. On the positive side, it fosters motivation, healthy competition, and leadership skills. On the negative side, it may create social distance and conflict if left unmanaged. The role of teachers and kyai as mentors and role models is crucial in directing yahanu toward constructive outcomes. This study investigates how ethical and multicultural dimensions can be effectively integrated into modern curriculum design to promote inclusive, equitable, and socially just education. Employing a mixed-methods approach, data were collected from educators, students, and policymakers through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and curriculum document analysis across multiple educational levels. Quantitative findings revealed a statistically significant correlation (p < .01) between the degree of ethical multicultural integration and student engagement levels, while qualitative data underscored structural and pedagogical barriers such as limited teacher training and inconsistent institutional support. Thematic analysis further identified that authentic, context-based learning approaches such as project-based learning and ethical simulations enhance students’ empathy and intercultural understanding. The study concludes that the integration gap arises not from conceptual disagreement but from institutional inertia and fragmented practice. It proposes a comprehensive framework that aligns policy, pedagogy, and professional learning to bridge the divide between ethical ideals and multicultural realities. This research contributes theoretically to the discourse on moral and cultural education and practically to the development of transformative, inclusive curriculum models for contemporary education systems.
Anas Fauzi Much.
