Background: HIV/AIDS cases in the adolescent age group (15–19 years) in Cilacap Regency show a fluctuating trend with the discovery of 24 new cases in 2024. Lack of health literacy and misconceptions about transmission methods are the main risk factors at the upstream level. Objective: This community service activity aims to improve the literacy and self-resilience of students at Muhammadiyah 1 Karangpucung Middle School through the interactive workshop, “Know and Protect Yourself." Method: The intervention was carried out on 25 students using a participatory technology transfer approach with a full interaction strategy. The media used included animated educational videos and interactive visual materials. Evaluation of success was measured through a comparison of pre-test and post-test scores, which were analyzed descriptively comparatively. Results: The results of the study showed a significant transformation of knowledge. The average student score increased from 43.0 (pre-test) to 61.2 (post-test). Although there was an anomaly in the score decrease in a small number of students due to cognitive fatigue and proactive inhibition, the majority of students successfully corrected misconceptions (such as the myth of transmission through mosquito bites/eating utensils). The highest score jump from 15 to 77 demonstrates the effectiveness of audio-visual media as scaffolding within the Zone of Proximal Development theory. Conclusion: Interactive workshops are effective in substantially improving students' cognitive abilities. To reduce stigma and achieve national HIV/AIDS prevention targets, we need to strengthen ongoing education through school cadres and innovative IEC media.
