Author Guidelines

The editor of Sahaja: Journal Sharia and Humanities welcomes article submissions in accordance with the following guidelines:  

  1. Articles have not been published or accepted for publication, or are being considered for publication elsewhere. In addition to the manuscript, a written statement should be attached which clarifies that the article is original and does not contain any elements of plagiarism.
  2. Types of articles suitable for publication include the following; research reports (laboratory, field, archives), conceptual ideas, studies, theory applications. 
  3. Articles are written preferably in English and Bahasa using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition. Manuscripts are typed 1 spaced in a quarto paper size (A4), between 5000-7000 words in length including references, pictures, and tables.
  4. Articles should be in form of essay which includes:
  • Title (15-20 words);
  • Author’s name (without any academic degree) with an institution’s name, country and e-mail address;
  • Abstract (150-200 words for each) which includes research problems, methods, and results;
  • Keywords (4-5 words);
  • Correspondence by Including e-mail;
  • Introduction (without subsection) 2-3 pages which includes background, objectives, methods, and literature reviews/ theoretical construct (if needed) of the research. The necessity of the investigation can be elucidated in the concluding section of the introduction.;
  • Method encompasses the research kind, approach, temporal and spatial context, objectives, subjects, processes, tools, data analysis techniques, and other elements pertinent to the research methodology.
  • Discussion (consists of result of the study, written in the form of subchapter;
  • Conclusion (is a brief summary of findingsand discussion. It is strongly recommended to 
    avoid mere repetitive statements from the previous sections);
  • References. 
  1. Reference list format is based on Chicago manual of style 17th edition (Full Note/Foot Note). The reference list should appear at the end of the article and includes only literature actually cited in the manuscripts. References are ordered alphabetically and chronologically. All the authors are required to utileze the reference manager software such as MendeleyZoterowith Chicago manual of style 17th edition (Full Note/Foot Note) style citation.  
  1. The author requred to cite at least two (2) journals from previous publication of Sahaja. 
  2. The editor appreciates if authors excerpt information from previously published articles in Sahaja.
  3. Articles should be submitted in soft files using Microsoft Word application to the Online Submission page.

Online Submitting Manuscript Guidelines

The manuscript text must be submitted by one of two systems (second procedure will be preferred):

  1. Submitting document should be done by Online Submission System in the Sahaja E-journal portal
  2. First, the author should register as an author or reviewer (checking role as author or reviewer) in the REGISTER or LOGIN.
  3. After registration completed, login as an author, click in “New Submission”. The article submits stage consist five stages, such as:  (1). Start, (2). Upload Submission, (3). Enter Metadata, (4). Upload Supplementary Files, (5). Confirmation.
  4. In the “Start” column, chose Journal Section (Full Article), check all the checklists.
  5. In the “Upload Submission” Columns, upload the manuscript files at MS Word format in this column.
  6. In the “Enter Metadata” columns, fill out all the author data and affiliation. Following the Journal Title, Abstract and Indexing Keywords.
  7. In the “Upload Supplementary Files” columns, allowed to upload supplementary data file or the statement letter or other else.
  8. In the “Confirmation” columns, if all the data that you enter were right, then click “Finish Submission”.
  9. If the author has difficulties in the submitting process via the online system, please contact Sahaja Editorial team.
